Things You Will Love and Hate about Homeschool Conventions

love and hate homeschool conventions

It’s convention time--homeschool conventions that is. One of my favorite things about Spring is attending homeschool conventions. It’s time to evaluate what has worked this year and make plans for the new one. Even if you think you have this homeschool thing down perfectly (Do any of us really feel that way?!), you can always use a few fresh … [Read more...]

How to Put God First in Your Homeschool

by admin 8 Comments

A new year encourages us to evaluate our lives and all it’s components. Homeschooling is one of those components. When you spend such a large part of your life committed to something, you want to make sure you are doing it right. The only way to ensure you are doing anything right is to lay it at God’s altar and submit to His will. The same is … [Read more...]

Perspective for this Season of Life: 3 Things to Remember

by admin 9 Comments

The school work is not done. The baby is crying. A diaper needs changed. You don’t know what’s for dinner and it’s almost 5p.m. The phone rings. All you really want to do is sit down on the couch and do NOTHING. It’s a typical day in your life, right? Some days are like that. Realistically, some days aren’t. They are the rare occasions … [Read more...]

We Interrupt this Program…

by admin 6 Comments

I may be dating myself, but perhaps you remember when Saturday morning cartoons would be interrupted with the most annoying sound in the world. Then you you would hear, “We interrupt this program for an important message from your emergency broadcasting system.” Right in the middle of the show. The sound was annoying enough. What was even more … [Read more...]

To Huddle or Not to Huddle?

by admin 9 Comments

As Christians and homeschoolers we are often accused of living “in the bubble” or “holy huddle.” For me, this stirs reactions on both sides of the coin. The Positive As homeschoolers, we obviously don’t have the public school community. We do have a homeschool co-op, a Bible study, a community homeschool group, a field trip group, and a … [Read more...]

Faith. It’s important all the time, but in this Faith. It’s important all the time, but in this season of uncertainty, it feels even more important. I keep asking God to change my heart if what I want is not what he has for me, but the pull just keeps getting stronger. I am certain of what I hope for. It’s a struggle to be just as certain that He will provide it. But He is faithful even when we are not. Thank goodness! So we will praise Him in the storm...and wait. #faith #waitingplace #godisgood #hewillprovide
